BJJ Flyers
I designed two flyers for BJJ clubs I train at. I used GIMP. They are both basic but I like how they turned out. Let me know your thoughts.

Sorry for the delay in getting this up. I just couldn’t get the results I wanted. Part of it I think was choosing a picture with facial hair which made the entire project more difficult.
I choose to swap the Steiner Brothers faces. The Steiners are the greatest tag team in the history of pro-wrestling and were one of my favourite teams growing up.
I used this tutorial:
I found it so difficult that I ended up splitting into four parts.
Part 1. First I swapped Rick with Scott and ended up with this:
Part 2. Was Swapping Scott with Rick
Part 3. I then Swapped both faces:
Rick’s moustache ( which is a horseshoe stach not a handle bar one) looked bad so I tried to fix it. Scott’s stubble looked bad too.
Part 4:
I got fed up, because the result looked bad. I think this is something I’m going to have to come back too. I really didn’t understand how to use a lot of the tools properly. I think I’ll look at the basic tutorial again.
So I decided to learn how to do lazer beam eyes.
Heres the tuturial I used:

Here are the results Original image top, photoshop underneath:
Heres another set:
The first set I’m okay with. The 2nd set I messed up some how. I need to learn how to lable my layers properly and note how I’m working as I go along. I want to learn how to do shattered skulls and blood splatter too.
I have done some basic photoshop stuff. I mean really basic.
The tutorials I am using are here:

The mini-project I was working on was with photos from the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club where I train. Shout out to Alexandra Park BJJ.
The originals were taken from the clubs Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AlexandraParkBJJ)
Here we go with the original:
So as you can tell it is quite dark. Needs lightening up. I ended up with this:
Did the same here:
Lightened:
and here again:
I’m going to try and play around with colours and maybe even try a few special effects!
See you next week. Before I go here is my twitter account:
Hit me up.
So this is my second attempt at blog. I failed miserably in my first attempt as I didn’t keep it updated. Apparently I didn’t have much to say.
This blog will be about me learning new stuff. If there anyone out there that can point in the direction of great resources or can offer some advice I would be in your debt.
The skills and knowledge I have set out to obtain are listed below:
1) Learn WordPress
2) Microsoft Excel
3) Adobe Photoshop
4) SEO
5) Google Adwords
6) Basic coding
7) Memory techniques.
8) Video editing
9) Arabic
10) Urdu
It’s pretty ambitious I know. I going to try and learn skills by completing small projects. I’m looking at giving myself a month on each to try and grasp the basics of each skill (Except Arabic and Urdu). I’m planning on updating my progress weekly.
That’s it really. Any help gratefully accepted and greatly appreciated.
First up – Photoshop!
